Skipping dental visits in an effort to cut costs actually creates much more expensive side effects. Unfortunately millions of Americans are forgoing routine dental care because they don’t have insurance or can’t afford it. However, the Institute of Medicine found that 33 million Americans live in areas that don’t provide sufficient dental services. The Institute of Medicine also reports that nearly five million children skilled dental checkups because their parents can’t afford it.
